Jasmina Bolfek-Radovani's Heart Monologues performance is based on a thirteen-poem long sequence in English, French and Croatian. The Heart Monologues show toured in London, Paris and Pula. It was a multilingual poetry performance involving live poetry, collaboration and sensor-based sound.
The Heart Monologues trailer from the performance in Pula can be accessed below: https://youtu.be/lRRetPzwxls?si=uetJr5SC5ni4dsFU
The performance was co-directed by Jasmina Bolfek-Radovani with Paris-based artist and theatre director Delphine Salkin (performing with Atau Tanaka and her in the trailer above). Atau Tanaka’s muscle and heart sensors begin producing sound from around 1:45 min. At 3:14 min, there is a 15 sec multilingual snippet from the 1:19 min long sound work “Heart/Coeur/Srce” Jasmina co-created with Delphine Salkin for Heart Monologues with the word “heart” spoken by native speakers of twenty-four different languages around the word.
